#Swim in fantastic beaches
Exotic beaches with beautiful mountain backdrops line up the coasts of Lefkada. The most popular beaches with the impressive turquoise waters and the fantastic sunsets are found on the western shores of the island.
Porto Katsiki and Egremni, two stunning beaches with exotic water, are considered among the best beaches in the Mediterranean. Swimming in their deep blue sea is by far one of the most pleasurable things to do in Lefkada.
Another beach with major tourist activity, modern facilities and exquisite natural surrounding is Kathisma. Also located on the western side of the island, Kathisma offers many water sports, beach bars, restaurants and a wonderful sunset view. Our complex apartments in Lefkada is located just a short drive from Kathisma.
#Windsurfing and kite
Windsurfing and kite are the most popular things to do in Lefkada. In summer, the resorts of Vassiliki and Agios Ioannis experience a steady increase of thermal winds during the day, which creates the perfect conditions for such activities. Both Agios Ioannis and Vassiliki offer several specialized shops and schools for windsurfing enthusiasts.
#Walk in picturesque villages
Beautiful little seaside villages, like Agios Nikitas and Sivota, are perfect for a dreamy ramble. Agios Nikitas is a small fishing village near Kathisma beach with a main pedestrian street leading to the sea. Take a stroll down the promenade, that gets crowded during high season, past souvenir shops and traditional houses, and try the fish dishes in one of the many restaurants and taverns.
On the southern side of Lefkada you will find another scenic village, the port of Sivota. Its natural bay, used as a yacht marina, is the ideal setting for a romantic walk. Along Sivota coast visitors will find many restaurants, fish taverns, cafes and shops. In the night, the village is bursting with life and fun.
#Visit the Castle of Agia Mavra
At the entrance of Lefkada Town stands the Medieval Castle of Agia Mavra. This marvelous sight was built in the 14th century as a French stronghold for the protection of the island from pirate attacks and, throughout history, has been used as a Turkish mosque, Venetian castle and refugee camp. Today the castle is well preserved and open to visitors. Inside you can see the church of Agia Mavra, the ruins of the bridge that connected it with the town and a canon. Every summer you can also attend the various cultural events that take place in the castle.
#See the sunset
If you come to Lefkada, you should definitely not miss the incredible sunset from Exantheia village. Built amphitheatrically on the mountain, about 600 meters above sea level, Exantheia is a traditional settlement surrounded by verdant scenery. This romantic destination offers amazing views to a sunset of warm colours, creating a charming mood. Generally, all the western side of Lefkada and Lefkada Town offer great sunset views in summer.
